There are so many great stories about the Northern Territory, and this is the place to find them.

Stories come from locals, visitors and “Mates” of the Territory – and we welcome your questions or comments.

Take the time to read and if you need to know anything further, just ask and start a conversation!

Guest contributions from our Mates, including:

Jennifer Pinkerton
Jen is a Darwin-based travel writer and photographer. She contributes to Australian Traveller, International Traveller, The Australian Way, Marie Claire and Qweekend among others. She is most at home when writing and snapping stories about her home, the Northern Territory. She was named a finalist in the 2014 NT Literary Awards. And when she’s not chasing noisy tree frogs off her balcony and baking papaya bread (badly), she blogs her photos here.

Lauren Bath
Lauren is Australia’s first professional Instagrammer. Yep, she actually quit her job as a chef to travel the world full-time, taking photos of inspiring destinations and experiences as she goes. Lauren loves animals and really appreciates different textures in photography. She goes especially ga-ga over a ripping sunrise or sunset!

Olivia Mair
Olivia is a self-proclaimed travel addict, hobby photographer and would-be blogger. With all 7 continents and 64 countries under her belt she’s certainly seen some of the world but her must-see list grows longer every day. She loves nothing more than exploring the world with good friends, preferably with her camera in one hand and a glass of the local tipple in the other. Follow Olivia on Instagram and read her blog Where’s Wiwi?

Natalie Birt
Natalie is a wife; mother of four; successful business owner, and; blogger currently travelling around Australia with her family. Her mummysmiles.com blog recounts the joys of motherhood and has received extensive coverage in The Courier Mail and a strong social media following. Follow Natalie on Twitter and Instagram.

Amanda Markham
Amanda is an anthropologist and archaeologist. She now runs her own cultural heritage management business and also works with the Aboriginal Interpreter Service (she speaks and Aboriginal language). Amanda is also a runner, gym goer and serious hiker (if there’s a hill to be climbed, she’ll do it) and worked as a fitness instructor for over 20 years. She believes a bushwalk is not a real walk unless it’s over 10km. She’s also the designer and coder behind Travel Outback Australia.

Lani Pearce
Lani is a Darwin local, coffee lover, quirky brooch fanatic, plant killer and is passionate about tourism and the NT. She’s also an Adelaide Crows fan whose legs go weak over a Barossa shiraz. You can follow her on Instagram if you don’t mind bad jokes. Lani works at Tourism NT.

Cory Gale
Cory is a sandgroper and proud of it. He moved from Western Australia to the Outback, swapping golden shores for deep, red earth. He loves sport, music, beer (and wine!) and travel – especially if it’s Australian! He’s always too happy to experience new adventures while bursting with enthusiasm. He’ll also make sure you hear about it! Cory works at Tourism NT.

Hannah Weir
Alice Springs local, Hannah, is one lucky duck having grown up on national parks all over Central Australia and the Top End. She can’t resist a gorgeous waterhole and loves a bacon and eggs breakfast on Sunday’s. Despite travelling all over Australia and the world, she still calls the Red Centre home. Hannah works at Tourism NT.
